Teen Dating Advice for Parents

An Introduction to Teen Dating Advice for the Modern Parent

The dating landscape has shifted like a mudslide over Route 66 and is virtually indistinguishable from its natural layout as little as 10, 20 years ago. Remember how your boyfriends used to show up at your front door to take you on a date with his hair parted and slicked down? Or how you used to run to the kitchen every time the telephone rang? Well, now the way teens approach dating is as different as a Pinto wagon and an SUV. Even the concept of dating has changed! Going steady? Ask your teen what that phrase means and they will probably stare at you like a deer in the headlights. The difference between dating today and when you were a hotrod is so extreme that the teen dating advice you provide for your kids can prove to be, let’s say, antique, as good as your intentions might be. For this reason, it’s so important that you get up to speed on the new dating terrain and the kind of teen dating advice that will steer your kids down what could be a very slippery slope.

Parenting Teens: Teen Dating Advice for the 21st Century

So, what are the rules of the road in dating today? How are kids meeting what they think is their “dream date?” What is involved in courting? At what stage in the relationship do they think it is appropriate to become intimate? What teen dating advice can you provide to better prepare your kids for the new dating landscape? These are all questions that parents of teens might need answers to in order to keep from spinning their wheels when their teens start dating. And since love and the discovery and exploration thereof are core components of maturing, the right teen dating advice is essential. Here are some important things you need to know about millennial dating:

1.Teen Dating Advice: Kids date in groups

What ever happened to one-on-one dating? Today, most teens meet and date people in groups. The group itself isn’t necessarily a problem – after all, developing friendships and being social is very healthy for your teen - but this can result in high-octane peer pressure. If your teen is surrounded by friends that are speeding towards in questionable behaviors, such as drinking, smoking and sex, chances are they are going to be run off course in some way by their friends…or worse, the girl or guy they are crazy over. You think peer pressure is big? It is nothing compared to the influence of the BF or GF. This is where good teen dating advice keeps those little spark plugs from misfiring! Clear the fog and help them see the reality that they will always be exposed to people who steer towards behaviors and habits that are unhealthy and often age-inappropriate. Explain to your kids that they should never feel pressured into doing things they aren’t comfortable with, but be firm about your expectations with regards to drinking, smoking, sex and other socially-induced habits.

2.Teen Dating Advice: Sex in the Afternoon

There’s something incredibly seductive about the moonlight, the stars, the dark velvety night… Or at least you thought so. But many teens are using the afternoon to rev their engines and accelerating over the boundary lines. Why? The hours between the last school bell and when many parents get home from work is when “the garage is still empty.” Parenting teens research surveys have found most sexual activity between teenagers to occur between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00. What teen dating advice you can provide to discourage your kids from sneaking behind your back? Encourage them to be honest with you about their relationships and keep an open road to healthy communication. The bottom line is, when teens are bored or without parental eyes, they have a tendency to drift over that solid line that they know they shouldn’t cross. Very few teens engage in risky behavior in math class. It’s the hours alone where we should post the giant “HAZARD” sign.

Stay Tuned for More Teen Dating Advice:

In my next article post, I will be explaining how the dating landscape has changed over the years so that those parenting teens may provide their kids with better and more appropriate teen dating advice.

What Are People Saying About Speed Dating?

Have you ever felt awkward about it, like you would never want to do it again? Not from the sounds of it. It appears as if many are returning to find another date or may have already found one that fit them perfectly. Quite many people are even using online speed dating sites. There are a number of real life cases, wherein after meeting and dating for some time, they get engaged. And after some time they get married. Now that seems to be a happy ending. There are a number of such success stories.

Many are giving lots of compliments about how the speed dating works. A person remarks how he met many beautiful women at one of the programs. How remarkable they were and how they are actually dating a number of different people. He's not ready to settle into one relationship.

A sort of chain reaction starts, with the word of mouth publicity advertising about the availability of the latest Speed Dating services and the result is surely amazing. People are discovering that its not at all necessary to go to a bar to date someone or be overly friendly at the super market in order to discover whether someone is single or not.

These occasions are being described as fun, delightful, entertaining, a great way to spend the evening, both enjoyable, and well organized.

There are of course some, which are not really well organized. These can be a huge disappointment to those who attend of the event. They are required to be efficient, send out confirmation of registration by postal mail or email. Many use email. They need to check over everything on all emails to ensure that all the information is correct. The organizer should ensure to get the right age groups together. Which young man would want to date with a group of retired women? That would be a total waste of time for most of the participants. Then they also require a bell to direct you when the time is over. That keeps people from sitting with someone too long and others from waiting for their turn to get to chat. It's a good idea to read up on the speed date site you plan to attend well before registering. Then you can read the views of others who have already attended their programs.

Are you searching for singles to chat with. Someone someone who is also a single like you. Not someone acting as a single by removing their wedding band prior to entering the bar. In my opinion, the group dating process is quite safe and enjoyable. You could spend an enjoyable night out meeting others in a safe environment and not be pressured by any of them. If you find someone you would like a date with, it's all kept a close guarded secret. You let the guy organizing the event know, then they take it from there. They contact the other person to see if they are mutually interested in each other, if there is, they then make arrangements for both of you to meet each other. If not, then you are saved from the embarrassment of being openly being turned down by someone you were interested in.

If you are single and having a tough time meeting other singles, this may be just the thing you would like to do.

Where to Go on Your Honeymoon

xNow, that the wedding plans are underway, now the fun starts and it’s time to plan that honeymoon!. Let’s take a look at the typical honeymoon, shall we? Consider that this 7-10 day vacation follows many months of stressful planning, and most likely a very exhausting wedding day. Add to that the notion that oftentimes, the newly married couple tend to prefer a good deal of “private” time to adjust to their newly married status.

Sometimes couples find that they have planned such an extravagant, expensive honeymoon in a far away place where they don’t understand the language, currency, culture or customs, and end up frustrated when they realize they have over-scheduled as well as overestimated their energy or financial resources. So, keep in mind that if you love the notion of a warm, exotic vacation with tons of things to do, beautiful beaches and the time of your life, but don’t want to spend a fortune or fuss with passports and international travel issues, consider a fabulous honeymoon vacation in sunny San Diego, California.

Everyone will be so envious as it really is an area that has just about anything you could possibly want to do, and you will have no trouble finding just the right people to take you there and/or show you how to get the most out of the experience…after all, they live there year round and are the experts, right? With 70 miles of beautiful beaches, countless parks and gardens, and endless opportunities for pampering at one of the areas many spas and resorts, San Diego is an excellent destination for the perfect honeymoon getaway.

Downtown San Diego is one of the city's prime draws, home to the Gaslamp Quarter Historic District, Horton Plaza, elegant hotels, and trendy restaurants. San Diego's Spanish and Mexican heritage are most evident in Old Town, north of downtown at Juan Street, near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 8. Overlooking downtown, 1,200-acre Balboa Park has most of San Diego's museums including San Diego Museum of Man and the San Diego Natural History Museum. And how can you even think of visiting Southern Californian and not going to the world-famous San Diego Zoo/ San Diego Wild Animal Park? If you are the outdoorsy types (you have to come out of that honeymoon suite at some point, no?), Cowels Mt. is a great hike right in the city. From the top you get a panoramic view from the Coronado Islands up to Catalina on a clear day. Great workout and is about 2.5 miles round trip. Balbo Park has some great trails and so does Torrey Pines, which has amazing views of La Jolla and up the coast. If you are looking for a more relaxing outside event, you can take a Coaster train in to Old Town or Downtown, or The Old Town Trolley Tour is a privately-operated hop-on, hop-off tour that runs a circuit around central San Diego including Old Town, the zoo entrance, downtown San Diego, Little Italy and it goes over to Coronado and goes close to the beach there.

If you are bike enthusiasts, how about riding Mountain bikes from Mt. Soledad down through Mission Beach then back up the and then back into LaJolla Shores. Maybe you like to be near/in the water; LaJolla Shores/Cove kayaking is just the thing. Or Sea World does offer a swim with Beluga Whales if you want to get into the water with a marine animal. In addition, they also have daytime shows, and then a special summer evening event with different shows, and fireworks.

While most people understand the importance of wedding photos, you would be surprised how many people forget about making arrangements to have their special honeymoon events photographed, and end up relying on strangers to snap a quick photo of them here and there, or being stuck with the option of taking turns photographing each other alone!! A good photographer will be on top of his game when it comes to your itinerary. Whether you are taking pictures at San Diego bay, or La Jolla cove, or Sunset Cliffs in mission beach, consider using a professional photographer at http://www.san-diego-wedding-photographer.net, you can be assured that your memories will be recorded with style and you can still enjoy yourself!

London's dating scene

London is a vibrant, cosmopolitan and cultural city as well as a magnet for people after a sociable, city life. Home to the highest proportion of singles than anywhere else in the UK, the dating scene in London is as diverse as the city itself.
Perhaps the biggest current trend in London’s dating scene is the steadfast online dating trend. Online dating has been around for years now and is hugely popular amongst single Londoners. These days however, the online dating options specific to London are as vast as the city itself and it can become a bit overwhelming to decide which one is best to help kindle your future relationship.

As competition amongst online dating companies has gotten fiercer, they’ve been forced to become much more innovative to set themselves apart. To help choose which online London dating sites are the best for you, here are a few guidelines.

Look for online dating sites that complement online dating with traditional London dating methods by promoting events and places to meet potential partners face to face in London, including members and/or singles exclusive events.

Good sites will also provide an easy to set up profile and a quick and easy way to respond and contact potential partners. Reputable sites will also usually have a large membership base.

Other points to look for include companies that offer personal dating advice. You should also look for a reputable website that provides a safe online environment, which takes your privacy seriously while still being fun.

London is huge a melting pot of different cultures and backgrounds, hence the array of online London dating sites that cater to more specific requirements such as cultural, religious and age requirements. If you are quite specific about what you want in a partner, then do your research and seek out sights specific to the type of client you are, for example there are plenty of Christian or Muslim London dating sites as well as seniors in London dating sites to name but a few.

While the online dating scene continues to boom, dating in London doesn’t have to be solely an online venture. London’s event calendar is packed with exclusive events for singletons, including glamorous supper clubs where the city's most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes meet while enjoying fine dining. Furthermore, there are speed dating events and other more unique events such as lock and key parties or singleton-only weekends away.

The vibrancy of the city of London and its numerous attractions, combined with both London specific online dating sites and the myriad of face-to-face London dating events, means that if you take the leap and get involved in the London dating scene, you may just find that special someone a few clicks and a tube ride away.

In this regard, Phoenix is guaranteed to have enough guys who are rich and successful. And if you are looking for one who is single and open to dating you, you have got to start looking at the right places. We give you a Phoenix adult dating guide in meeting rich dudes.
  •  Corporate Heavyweights
Even if the early economy of Phoenix was land-based, the last two to three decades of the city’s growth is attributed to industry and commerce. As a result, the city is now home to several big companies which includes seven Fortune 1000 companies. So the best way to dive in the Phoenix adult dating scene is to start looking in the swankiest bars in the downtown business area and look for the guys in suits, or those discussing business conferences and sales graphs. But if you are anxious to get faster results, attend a few corporate conventions that frequently happen in places like the Black Canyon, the Desert Willow, and the Phoenix Convention Center. Aside from useful business tips, you might even pick up a few phone numbers.
  •  Fly High
The city’s airline industry is one of the most significant sectors that comprise the economy. The Honeywell Aerospace manufacturing company is based in Phoenix where they’ve set up their avionics and mechanical facilities. And there is also the Mesa Air Group, a regional airline company, also headquartered in Phoenix. It is common knowledge that the airline industry has well-paid employees in its ranks, from top management, pilots, and to highly qualified engineers. So aside from striking up conversations with them at bars and cafés in the East Sky Harbor Circle, make it a point to attend events and conferences held by these companies so you can have ample opportunities to fly high with them.
  •  Play Golf
The tourism and hospitality industry in Phoenix has improved in a big way in recent years. Even if the city has a desert climate, it is blessed with warm weather during the winter season. This has caused a steady growth of seasonal tourism, and especially led to the construction of several golf resorts in the city. The Arizona Baltimore Country Club, Club West, the Grand Resort, the Legacy Golf Resort, and the Stonecreek Golf Club are great spots to tee off if you are looking to hook up with rich single men in the city. And if they are too expensive to pay for a yearly membership, you can still explore work opportunities at these places so you can touch base with many wealthy male patrons. Preferably, you can also inquire if the resorts have options for day tours or day membership pass, so you can still relax as a guest and go easy on your pockets at the same time.

What Not to Say on the First Date

First dates are often pretty awkward. Figuring out what to talk about is tough. But sometimes what people really don’t know is what not to talk about. There are plenty of topics that are just bad for first date conversations. Sure, it is good to be honest, but you don’t want your date to know everything about you so soon. Telling them everyone that first time can be information overload, and if anything it just makes you seem less mysterious and charming. Make sure you don’t make the common mistake of saying: ? “My ex used to do (fill in) in bed.” No. Just no. There are so many things wrong with this. No matter how many martinis or cocktails you’ve had on your first date, trust us, your date does not want to hear about your ex. Especially about what they did in bed.

? “Whom did you vote for?” Anything political or religious should be avoided. It’s way too deep for the “just getting to know each other” phase.

? “Are you going to eat all of that?” Cute? Not so much. This one is not a great ice breaker. Not great manners either.

? “Do you want to get the bill?” Neither of you should be saying this. It can be confusing to figure who’s supposed to pay. The other person’s opinion on this subject is one of those things you’ll get to learn about them later on, but for now, don’t just ask them to pay. Ladies, you should at least offer and Gentlemen, you should split it if she insists.

? “You know, I really am looking forward to settling down and having kids.” Yikes. Moving a little fast, aren’t you? At no point during your first date should these words be uttered. Are you trying to scare your date off?

? “And this, in the pink sweater, is my fourth cat Bobo--he’s the joker of the family.” A sure way to make a great impression on your date. Not.

? “My shrink keeps telling me...” Of course there’s nothing wrong with seeing a therapist, but do you really want to announce it on a first date? That tells the person that you have issues, and they just don’t know you well enough to be willing to deal with your issues.

? “How much do you make?” The first date isn’t a great time to discuss this. As a matter of fact neither is the second. Or the third.

? “Did you watch last night’s Jersey Shore/Kim and Kourtney?” Save this for your friends, please.

“So, can I see your place now? “ First, it’s too soon to be asking. Second, you should never have to ask. For more details visit dating for couples
